Happy new Year!

We left windy, cold Chicago around noon on Tuesday and arrived to our cozy home about 3pm on Wednesday–all the bags made it and no issue with flights!

I told my dad it was too hot on Christmas when, because of all our hotair, the living room was 74 degrees. The first night when we got ready to go to sleep, our bedroom was only……88. The hot, dry season runs from August to December so we missed it this year.

It has been record hot and dry with the water level dropping more than most people can remember. This means the floatplane has not been able to leave the hangar for the last couple of months. We have a ramp to get it to the water in the dry season. The ramp is about 700 feet long. The water isn’t even close to it right now. Hard to believe before we raised the hangar floor, during the wet season, the water was 2 feet deep in the hangar (click here for video). Looking out from the hangar door.

Here we are looking back to the hangar door and ramp. Usually we would be swimming as I tried to take that picture!

We do have the landplane that was donated last year and I flew from the United States. I have a few parts to change and do a couple flight checks but expect to be up and flying by the end of this week.

And Sierra already has a new friend to keep her occupied! puppy

Thanks again for all your love and support as we traveled and were able to visit so many of you! God bless as we start a new year. Praising Him for His Son that through Him we can tell the world there is forgiveness– a starting over if you will– similar to how we view a New Year.

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” 2 Corinthians 5:17
